Although I was trained in traditional Western Medicine, I apply an integrative, functional and preventive approach to my practice of medicine. I have a healthy respect for alternative therapies including homeopathy, "food as medicine", herbal remedies and ayurveda. The foundation of my medical practice is functional medicine, which starts from the root cause of the problem and expands on this to find true healing.
Each person that I see is beautifully individual, and I use integrative medicine principles when crafting a unique plan of care for each patient. I respect that there are unconventional therapies that might "work" for you, so please feel confident that you can suggest any modality of treatment for your care, and I will consider it carefully!
I also cannot stress the importance nurturing mind, body and spirit enough! I often help my clients learn meditation or breathing techniques to help with everything from anxiety to hypertension. I am committed to helping people come to a personalized understanding of health, which sometimes means that we cannot completely cure every ailment...instead, the focus is on reaching a sense of wholeness and wellness.
In order to be add to the armamentarium of modalities I use in my practice for healing, I have trained in homeopathy through the Center for the Education and Development of Homeopathy (CEDH), and have done coursework through the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM). More on IFM here.
I look forward to working with you on your journey towards OPTIMAL HEALTH!
